Wirral 11+ Exam Preparation That Builds Performance, Not Panic

The Wirral 11+ (GL Assessment) is as much about technique and timing as it is about knowledge. At The Study Zone, we prepare pupils to perform under pressure by developing the core skills early, then training the exact multiple-choice approach needed to maximise marks.

Our Roadmap approach begins in Year 3, where we strengthen KS2 literacy and numeracy foundations so pupils are ready to progress with confidence. In Year 4, we introduce essential Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning techniques and develop exam awareness. In Year 5, we shift focus to converting knowledge into points through timed drills, speed work, stamina building and full-length mock exams — ensuring pupils peak for the September tests.

This pathway is designed to help pupils:

Improve multiple-choice accuracy and reduce avoidable mistakes
Build speed without rushing or guessing
Strengthen reasoning technique and exam decision-making
Develop stamina for full papers under timed conditions
If your child is also aiming for St Anselm’s or Upton Hall, we can add specialist workshops that target the additional skills those exams require.
