1. Policy Statement

The Study Zone believes that a child should never experience abuse of any kind.

We have a responsibility to promote the welfare of all children and young people and to keep them safe. We are committed to practice in a way that protects them.

4. Procedure for Recording Concerns

If I have a concern about a child’s welfare, or if a child makes a disclosure:

  1. Listen & Reassure: I will listen to the child, take them seriously, but never promise "total secrecy."
  2. Record: I will write a factual account of the concern as soon as possible. This “Chronology of Concern” is kept in a secure, locked file.
  3. Refer: If I suspect a child is at risk of significant harm, I will contact the local authority immediately.
